“Hey! Young World”
I am Kareem, I am part of an important project called “Hey! Young
World” produced & created by my colleagues & I. We conceived the
idea through music for young people but as the project went on,
concepts for children books in volumes became a more effective medium
for reaching the youth. “Hey! Young World” (HYW) is an alternative in
education through music, art, & literature that lends an option to our
children. Today the media “force-feeds” our children PARENTAL ADVISORY
material in many facets of their little worlds.
Hey! Young World becomes a part of the solution in joining the
convoy of a long awaited movement in TAKING BACK OUR CHILDREN by using
elements in which young people would consider to be COOL/ HIP/ & THE
“IN” THING to bring forth a project uniformed in high standing of
MORALITY/ RESPECT/ HONESTY/ DIGNITY/ RESOLUTION/ INDEPENDENCE/
INDIVIDUALITY/etc. These are Qualities that schools often omit from
the curriculum, and while they should be instilled in the home HYW is

From a small city deep in the dirty south to the top of the hip-hop video world Lashay Iconic has taken the industry by storm. Within a two year span she has worked with some of the heavy hitters in hip-hop and now is one of the most sought after models in the industry.

When one thinks of a hip-hop video vixen one tends to picture a beautiful, well shaped young lady that probably compromised her core values to make it were she is in the industry. Yes, sex sells, and yes, sexual exploitation takes place in the entertainment industry that’s no secret; however, there are always exceptions to the rule.

In the beginning of Lashay’s career one of her team’s biggest challenges was the fact that they are intelligent. In a business that traditionally exploits beautiful women and is also governed by stereo-types their intelligence intimidated many people. Those that were governed by the two stereotypes had to readjust their attitudes, which many found difficult to do. It has been tradition among many to have the perception of beautiful women as being unintelligent, unprofessional, and really not concerned with the bottom line.

Many seasoned people in the game normally tend to take advantage of the new jacks that get blinded by the game seeking fame and fortune. The lights, cameras and the entertainment fluff can open people up to become victims if they are not properly mentally equipped. Therefore, Lashay and her team had to quickly cypher out the jobs that were legitimate and the jobs that had all of the elements of being legitimate, but were far from it.

Within a short period of time Lashay has made a strong impact in the industry and the word spread quickly. She has worked with Big Boi, Killer Mike, Tony Yayo, and T.I. to name a few. The body of work that Lashay and her team Indulgent entertainment have put together in such a short period of time would normally take the average model or team several years to accomplish. Article There Is Always Hope

On September 9, 2007 Hope gets the news that her eldest and only son was killed in combat defending his country in the war against terrorism. Initially, the news of her son’s death damaged her heart and temporarily crippled a loving tight knit family, until the day she accepted the reality of the situation and began to deal with it. They look to the Correctional Institution as validation of manhood.
